Detailed description

Picture "Blue portrait 5" (2001)

This series of blue portraits are painted on very thin Japanese tissue paper. They can be processed in this way only by I initially the paper on glass completely soaked, so that it connects firmly with the glass. Then I give the blue color on it and then work with hairdryer paper towels and brush the portraits herraus. Expressive delicate soul images are created. In each of these works, I have to be very careful not to destroy the paper and yet have to work very quickly to play with the course of the color and use it to design. Series in this complex and delicate way of painting are created only at intervals of years. The portrait is fixed on cardboard

About Dagmar Jacobs

On all my paths, I have always known that I would paint.
Every next step in my artistic career was wished for in advance and in every fulfillment I am grateful for all that has been created, awakened and enlivened. The expansion of my fine art went from drawing and wash drawing to painting with watercolor, gouache and oil. I have never committed myself to a particular subject, why should I? I play with them all, depending on my mood and intuition. There are series of landscapes, seascapes and architecture, just as I am drawn to portraits, nudes, flora and fauna. My paintings generally have a quick stroke and a strong brushstroke. There is no stagnation in them, movement is always at play. In 1985 I began to deal artistically with the subject of "femininity" and still do today. My works have been presented in numerous exhibitions at home and abroad since 1988. I have been working as a freelance artist since 1990 and opened Atelier 2b with gallery in Sarstedt/Heisede in 1996. This was followed by study visits to Italy, Malta, Greece and France. Since then I have been passing on all my knowledge in seminars, painting and drawing courses. I have enjoyed designing and organizing painting and cultural trips to Malta, Gozo and Greece. For many years I was a member of the Hildesheim Cultural Advisory Board and was involved in cultural development planning. A logical further development of my own art went into the third dimension. In sculpture, I create sculptures from stone, plaster, clay or wax that are cast in bronze in the art foundry, usually in small editions. In 2008 and 2010, I was commissioned by the HR industry to create the sculpture for the Employability Award (an annual business prize for innovative HR work) and the sculpture for the HR Awards 2010 "Manager and Scientist of the Year". In a second passion, I built up a consulting practice in parallel, 2005 NLP Master (DVNLP), 2010 and 2012 completion of two multi-year coaching courses at the Leibniz University of Hanover. In 2008, I opened the coaching and consulting practice "Dialogreisen" for solution-oriented consulting. Through this second profession, I also support artists as a coach for professional and personal development. Among other things, I developed coaching concepts for the socio-cultural sector and was co-author of the practical book "Schatzsuche mit Begleitung" - Ressourcen im Coaching kreieren. In 2013, 2015 and 2017, I published three books of stories through the Viennese publishing house Guthmann-Peterson. Stories more colorful than my pictures, multi-layered and eloquent. The poetry book "Abendränder" with photos of my paintings was published in fall 2023. With great gratitude for all the beauty, I am still curious to see what comes next.
