Detailed description

Picture "Avatar" (2020)

This painting was inspired by the movie Avatar and the underlying message of protecting, preserving and possibly defending nature. At the same time, it can also be seen as a tribute to the beauty of the male body and the connection between man and the nature that surrounds him. Free-swinging, abstract leaf shapes surround the man's body in blue tones and integrate him into his natural surroundings. Nature and man are connected with each other in harmony and are not in confrontation. The work is signed and dated on the back. It was exhibited from 14.9. - 30.10.2024 in the exhibition "Mensch form(t) Natur im RaumdurchKunst in Sindelsdorf.

About Heinz Stoewer

In my early 40s, I ended my career as a lawyer + banker in favor of painting, which has now been the focus of my life for 25 years after training as an artist.
My painting varies between realistic depictions and abstraction, whereby the interplay of form and color, i.e. the painting itself, is just as central to my work as the messages behind it. Water reflections, nature-inspired themes and images of people are the focus of my series of works. My painting is inspired by the media, the flood of images on the Internet, the nature that surrounds us and personal experiences and encounters. It is always surprising to me when and where the pictures arise in my head that then find their way onto the canvas. With my work I want to inspire, make people curious and thoughtful, and touch them.
