The painting shows the portrait of a young man standing in a cornfield. The choice of the colors blue, salmon, orange and yellow evoke an unreal mood and perhaps this face has appeared in a dream. The face of the attractive young man with a beard is turned towards the viewer, but he is not looking directly at him. Whether he wants something from us or is waiting for our reaction is unclear. A surprising encounter takes place in a rather unusual place, captivating us and perhaps reminding us of our longings. It is signed + dated on the back.

About Heinz Stoewer

In my early 40s, I ended my career as a lawyer + banker in favor of painting, which has now been the focus of my life for 25 years after training as an artist.
My painting varies between realistic depictions and abstraction, whereby the interplay of form and color, i.e. the painting itself, is just as central to my work as the messages behind it. Water reflections, nature-inspired themes and images of people are the focus of my series of works. My painting is inspired by the media, the flood of images on the Internet, the nature that surrounds us and personal experiences and encounters. It is always surprising to me when and where the pictures arise in my head that then find their way onto the canvas. With my work I want to inspire, make people curious and thoughtful, and touch them.
