Various irregular shapes in shades of blue, brown and dark pink are scattered across the painting, their color variations concealing a framed white, virgin canvas. In the center of the painting, tree structures can be seen in the blue forms, which seem to grow from the edges into the center. For the viewer, this creates a further level of the picture or a view through to a landscape suggested by these structures. There is an interplay between the abstract and the real. The inspiration for this work, which is part of a series with similar motifs, comes from impressions from nature, especially from old or bare trees, which sometimes look like sculptures. The work is signed and dated on the reverse.
