Detailed description
Picture "Gentle meanders and currents" (2023)
The work was inspired by the shapes and structures in a dry riverbed that emerge during floods or when the snow melts. When the water has disappeared, the meanders and traces of the currents become visible and a painting of nature is created. The artist has abstracted these impressions and altered their colors to create something completely new and unique.
About Heinz Stoewer
In my early 40s, I ended my career as a lawyer and banker in favor of painting, which has been the center of my life ever since.
I live in Bad Tölz and Palm Springs, California.
My painting varies between real images and abstraction, where the interplay of form and color, that is, the painting itself is as much at the center of my work as the message.
Water reflections, nature-inspired themes and images of people, especially male bodies or sections of them, are focal points in my work series.
The influence of the flood of images on the Internet on us and our self-perception is questioned and the equality of alternative lifestyles is important to me.
I am inspired by various media, my own experience and everything that happens around me.
