Detailed description

Picture "not an easy decision" (2023)

Asymmetrical shapes in various shades of red and blue are set against an iridescent light green background. The arrangement of these shapes creates recognizable lines and islands of colour catch the viewer's eye. The result is a mixture of gentle movement and calm that invites the viewer to take a closer look at this abstract composition. The asymmetrical forms, which are characteristic of the artist's entire oeuvre, are clearly noticeable. The painting was inspired by memories of walks in nature. The painting was on display at the Bayrischzell art exhibition in 2023. It is dated and signed on the back.

About Heinz Stoewer

In my early 40s, I ended my career as a lawyer + banker in favor of painting, which has now been the focus of my life for 25 years after training as an artist.
My painting varies between realistic depictions and abstraction, whereby the interplay of form and color, i.e. the painting itself, is just as central to my work as the messages behind it. Water reflections, nature-inspired themes and images of people are the focus of my series of works. My painting is inspired by the media, the flood of images on the Internet, the nature that surrounds us and personal experiences and encounters. It is always surprising to me when and where the pictures arise in my head that then find their way onto the canvas. With my work I want to inspire, make people curious and thoughtful, and touch them.
