Detailed description

Picture "patch #2" (2019)

In this work, the artist has perfectly translated his motto: "My world is full of color" into a very powerful abstract oil painting in shades of red. Red stands for love, energy, eroticism and passion and this picture conveys all of this. In the center is a large red patch with various shades of red interspersed with shades of green, yellow and white. The painterly execution of these cloud-like structures develops its own dynamic and makes the painting appear to move from within. One could think of a boiling pot filled with red paint that overflows towards the outer areas. In pleasant contrast to this is the very calm background in a beige tone. This abstract painting is very dominant and requires sufficient hanging space to achieve the best effect.

About Heinz Stoewer

In my early 40s, I ended my career as a lawyer + banker in favor of painting, which has now been the focus of my life for 25 years after training as an artist.
My painting varies between realistic depictions and abstraction, whereby the interplay of form and color, i.e. the painting itself, is just as central to my work as the messages behind it. Water reflections, nature-inspired themes and images of people are the focus of my series of works. My painting is inspired by the media, the flood of images on the Internet, the nature that surrounds us and personal experiences and encounters. It is always surprising to me when and where the pictures arise in my head that then find their way onto the canvas. With my work I want to inspire, make people curious and thoughtful, and touch them.
