Detailed description

Picture "Red invasion" (2022)

This abstract painting is characterized by the contrast between stillness and movement, with the movement of the red rivers and swirls dominating. The different shapes and combinations of the red elements give free rein to the viewer's imagination. You will always discover something new in the paintings! The red tones vary from very light vermilion to dark red and then partially dissolve into pink, which merges into the light beige areas. A powerful picture that requires some space to take effect. In addition to acrylic paint, sand has also been worked into the painting, creating an interesting materiality.

About Heinz Stoewer

In my early 40s, I ended my career as a lawyer and banker in favor of painting, which has been the center of my life ever since.
I live in Bad Tölz and Palm Springs, California. My painting varies between real images and abstraction, where the interplay of form and color, that is, the painting itself is as much at the center of my work as the message. Water reflections, nature-inspired themes and images of people, especially male bodies or sections of them, are focal points in my work series. The influence of the flood of images on the Internet on us and our self-perception is questioned and the equality of alternative lifestyles is important to me. I am inspired by various media, my own experience and everything that happens around me.
