Picture "IN THOUGHTS" (2024)
The relationship between man and nature and the play with different techniques on robust painting paper form the background of this semi-abstract work by Helene Fiegl. A crouching woman lost in thought dominates the picture. Turquoise, purple and white set the tone in terms of color. The model has assumed a pose reminiscent of Egon Schiele's female figures. The design of the body varies playfully between free and realistic execution. Areas of color and collages (such as paper with dragonfly patterns, Chinese paper with plant sketches and text fragments) detached from the figurative exist as a matter of course alongside naturalistic, clearly defined body parts. Color, form and media (acrylic, wax crayon, ink and collage elements) form a lively yet harmonious coexistence. The energetic lines and powerful layers of paint emphasize the tension between the hidden and the visible and leave room for personal interpretation.
