Sculpture "Figurine XI" (2023)
Figurine No. XI shows a fragmented human figure that appears to have been carved out of rough stone or weathered material. The upper body is clearly indicated but incomplete, conveying a certain transience or vulnerability. The surface is rough and uneven, riddled with natural cracks and fractures that reinforce the impression of erosion or weathering. The colors are dominated by earthy tones with subtle nuances of grey, ochre and rusty red, which give the figure a lively patina. The pigmentation and cold colors enhance the organic effect of the sculpture and make it appear almost like an archaeological find. The posture is upright but slightly asymmetrical, which lends it a certain dynamism. The head is only hinted at, making the figure anonymous and leaving plenty of room for interpretation. The dimensions given are overall dimensions measured with the wooden pedestal.
