Sculpture "Head 1" (2019)
Head Modeled from stoneware mass, treated with engobes and patina after firing. The sculpture captures the essence of a face with minimal means. The raw, uneven surface of the stoneware mass gives it an archaic, almost fragmentary appearance - as if it were a remnant from a distant time or a found object that carries stories within it. The implied facial features, especially the prominent nose and closed mouth, seem to grow out of the material, while other areas of the face appear incomplete or eroded. This imperfection reinforces the impression of transience and mystery. The coloring with earthy and grey tones, interspersed with lighter accents, makes the sculpture appear alive - as if the material itself has worked with time. The head is a study in reduction: a face without identity, a form that leaves room for interpretation.
