During a summer vacation in Sweden, we went for a walk along the Baltic coast. In the sunlight, the marram grass with its green-blue-grey tones on the upper edge of the beach made a wonderful picture. Signed and dated.

Because these pictures are only clear at first glance. Again and again, Kirsten Treis captures the seemingly incidental and uses it to create new focal points. She is fascinated by the beauty of the moment, when light conjures up sunspots and the trivial suddenly comes into focus. The painter appreciates the light, watercolor-like quality of acrylic paint and plays with the alternation between image and abstraction.
