Detailed description

Picture "Snowdrop on turquoise-blue" (2024)

Inspired by nature, I work with plants and flowers. I sketch the shapes of the flowers with ink and simplify them step by step to finally enlarge them in an exciting detail. By playing intuitively with the colors, I create completely new and fresh combinations. Here, the beautiful, delicate snowdrops are shown abstracted on a blue, dark green background. Acrylic on canvas, painted around the edges and covered with protective varnish. Picture can be hung immediately on the stretcher frame.

About Monika Gollasch

I have been a passionate artist and graphic designer for over 30 years.
It all started with an invitation to an art camp in the 8th grade, where we spent the whole day painting, which was like a dream for me. That's how my passion for art and painting began. By studying fashion illustration at the new art school in Zurich and taking nude drawing courses at the Munich Art Academy, I learned to draw a quick, loose line and to focus on the essentials. My media design training paved my way as a graphic designer. I combine both sides in my painting. My aim is not to depict nature realistically, but to reinterpret it and reflect my feelings in it. I look at the colors in a completely new way and use them in an instinctive manner. With the resulting intense play of colors, my paintings radiate joy and lightness. I work in my studio on the rural outskirts of Munich, surrounded by meadows and fields. My paintings can often be seen at exhibitions in southern Germany.
