Detailed description

Picture "Departure II" (2024)

The texture and multi-layered, intense colors give the abstract seascape from the Magic Landscapes series great depth and special light effects. The bright yellow and orange on the horizon arouses curiosity as to what lies beyond. It makes you want to set off on a journey into the light, which is expressed in the title. The picture was exhibited in the pop-up exhibition - Historisches Gutshaus Wienhausen near Celle 2024. It has a glazed wooden shadow gap frame, which remains in the background due to the medium gray tone and the frame height and does not restrict the expanse of the landscape. Of course, you can also purchase the picture with a different frame color or without a frame at a lower price. In addition, the sides of the picture are painted so that it can also be hung without a frame. The picture is signed on the front and back and is ready to hang. The surface of the picture has a varnish coating with UV protection.

About Peter Stahr

After studying art in Braunschweig, Peter Stahr worked in the fields of painting, media art, web design and as a teacher with various exhibitions in Germany.
Since 2021, he has worked exclusively as a freelance artist with a studio in Göttingen. Stahr paints abstract landscapes from his feelings and memories. He lived by the sea for many years and ran various windsurfing schools in the Mediterranean in his youth. Hence his preference for abstract seascapes. In his "Magic Landscapes" series of paintings, the viewer is invited on inner journeys of discovery that take him to personal (longing) places that awaken feelings and memories. His abstract landscapes often move between figuration and abstraction. In the "Neue Wege" series of paintings, he also expresses his own fears of the present and the future. These pictures can be thought-provoking and evoke various associations on an emotional level. He likes to work in large Picture sizes with acrylic or acrylic mixed media on canvas. In his works, he mixes acrylic with various pigments, emulsion paints, pastes, earths and other materials. In addition to form and color, the material is added as a supporting medium. This results in multi-layered, detailed works with great depth.
