Detailed description

Picture "Olaf, Federal Chancellor" (2024)

Digital work, archival carbon print behind plexiglass (5mm), laminated white on the back. There are 10 copies in 50 x 50 cm. The work is numbered and signed on the back. The work is digitally drawn on the computer and saved as a file. The graphic style of the work is ideal for printing on acrylic glass. These prints are not a reproduction medium, but an independent form of expression with which effects can be achieved that are not possible in painting. The print on acrylic glass is the original. Olaf Scholz on his way: With a few strong lines, which show details in some places, the exterior is depicted in order to reflect the inner state of mind. In the background, Mr. Scholz is depicted as a whole figure, with his suitcase packed. A step into a new day - and perhaps into a new phase in which nothing is as it was before. He has a special view of things, he knows the consequences and can deal with them.

About Ralf Schmidt

There is a dialog between my works: you have "saved" the works you have already created, and when you create a work, the idea for the next work automatically forms in the back of your mind.
In my works, I try to make the inside visible through the outside: just as in some paintings outer landscapes are inner landscapes, my externally detailed depictions of people/things represent inner realities. People "on their way" or taking a decisive step from one stage of life to another are a recurring motif in my work.
