Picture "wake up" (2022)
wake up...several layers of paint, cheerful colors, a new day begins. A new day in my studio often begins with a riot of color. Fun, good music and a good mood. This is also the case with this work. The canvas is stretched on a wooden frame and ready to hang. Each of my artworks is unique and a unique piece. An eye-catcher for your room.

About Ruth Schleeh
I work abstractly, mostly in large formats.
I experiment, discard again, redesign or new.
Therefore, my works are sometimes very different, sometimes outlandish.
I can't say why my hand reaches for a certain color, why I now take a chalk or a wax crayon. It's little things and nuances that are my inspiration and probably take place more in the subconscious than rational decisions, but that's probably what art is.
Materials can also develop a dynamic that I can't control. Then I have to let myself get involved, not hold on to anything that I might have laid out in my head as a plan. Not the head works, but the picture and my hands tell me what to do.
