Detailed description

Picture "Frida (Kahlo) I" (2022)

This work was awarded 3 art prizes: the 3rd place of the WORLD ART AWARDs 2023 (category PORTRAIT), the 3rd prize of the International Art Award of the Camelback Gallery, USA, Arizona, Scottsdale and the Honourable Mention Award of the Palm Art Awards 2022. For the picture series "Courage Strength Resilience - Lifelines of extraordinary women" I have chosen women who, from my personal point of view, have made extraordinary life achievements. Frida Kahlo was a very strong woman whose biography impressed me very much and inspired me to create this work. The decisive stimulus for the creation of this image was her proud, wandering into the distance look, which allows various interpretations for the viewer. For this mixed media work I used acrylic paint, plastic masses, graphite, tissue paper and charcoal. The work has structure through the plastic masses and tissue paper.

About su sea

In 2023 and 2024, my painting was awarded 16 international art prizes.
Recognized galleries and art museums around the world curated some of these awards. Especially the first place of the art competition "World Art Awards 2023", in the category POP ART, has additionally confirmed me to further develop this unique art direction for myself and thus create my individual expression. Strong colors with contrasting effects and a poster-like style characterize my Pop Art works. My large-format portraits are the result of my inner examination of a person's biography and individual personality. This researched knowledge flows into my works as a colorful expression of emotions. I don't just paint what is recognizable at first glance, I am interested in the story behind the outer appearance. In addition to studying fine art, I also completed a degree in social pedagogy. Influenced by this knowledge, I explore socio-critical themes such as femininity, strength, resilience and the role of women in social change. Biographies of remarkable women become vivid portraits characterized by an individual style between figuration and abstraction. For my picture series "Lifelines of extraordinary women", I have selected women who, from my personal point of view, have made outstanding life achievements. These achievements take on particular significance when viewed in the context of the historical, social and political situation of the woman in question. Through my many years of teaching art in a rehabilitation clinic for women and children, I have been able to experience how painting and the intensive occupation with inner pictures can give people back their courage and self-confidence. Unrestricted, unconditional creativity can lead to a more positive self-perception, to a strengthening of one's own resources and thus to an increase in one's own resilience. This important experience and the lasting engagement with various stylistic devices and artists has had a decisive influence on my own artistic path.
