Ulla Kutter has depicted the Köhlbrand Bridge in Hamburg here. It can be seen from the so-called Altonaer Balkon. Here, walkers have a wide view over the harbor. In the foreground are old trees, benches and a barrier to prevent people from falling off. The painter has created a very intense little piece of art here on wood she has primed herself. The entire picture is painted in two layers of oil paint, giving it luminosity and depth. Kutter's gift for observation comes into its own: the leaves at the edge of the canopy are beige, the tree has an organ edge. These and many other details make this small picture appear so lively. Despite the softness of the motif, the atmosphere is very strong.
