Picture "Mykonos" (2023)
Ulla Kutter painted here a view of the sea off Mykonos with some different ships. The main purpose of the picture is to depict the warm atmosphere and light over the Mediterranean Sea in the summer evening. In many glazes of oil paint, the colors of the sunset and the many different shades of the waves come to the fore. The very agitated sea contrasts with the calm land in the background. The sunlight colored the more distant areas in a soft bright purple. As a special challenge, the painter has taken the representation of the waves. No wave resembles the other, everywhere the hues change. Reinforced by the underpaintings in pink and turquoise, a completely enchanted and light summer mood is created.
