Picture "Baltic Sea / Ærø / Vitsø" (2022)
Several times a year I travel to the Danish island of Aeroe in the Baltic Sea to paint there. I work directly in the landscape. The island offers wonderful light for painting. This picture was taken on a sunny day in June. In the background you can see the bright beach and the light ochre-colored fields above the cliffs. A few buildings are indicated in front of a green wood. The sea shimmers blue-green, turquoise. In the foreground, the sea cabbage shows its bright yellow flowers and strong blue-green leaves. The sky shines in a soft blue. My brushstroke is expressionistic and dynamic. The picture support is a self-covered, triple-primed canvas with a steel cable for suspension. The edges are painted. The picture can be hung without framing. My signature is on the front.
