Picture "Water lily blossom" (2022)
This picture was taken in my garden in June and shows the first pale pink water lily flower of early summer, which delighted me with its bright colors. The flower with its sun-yellow stamens shines between the dark green and reddish water lily leaves on the shimmering brown-green water of the pond. I have captured the fleeting play of light and reflections on the water and rendered it with impasto, expressive brushstrokes. The lively application of paint gives the picture plasticity and depth, while the structured design of the leaf and flower shapes emphasizes the motif. The hand-stretched, quadruple-primed canvas is fitted with a sturdy steel wire for secure hanging. As the edges are painted, the picture can be hung without additional framing. My signature is on the front.
