Picture "ETERNITY_Provence blue" (2023)
The work ETERNITY tells of Yo Franklin's life in the here and now, of her travels and her encounters with people of different cultures. It invites us to pause and feel the awareness of the moment. ETERNITY is worked as an imperfect circle. In many layers of pigments in silicone oil, acrylic and resin, the artist applies the golden leaf metal, reworks and polishes the golden surface and works with delicate oil pastel and zampon varnish to finish. In the interruptions, the very dark ultramarine (almost black) peeks out between the gold surface and the silver islands. The painting is painted on the edges, like the background, in a warm dark blue, which oscillates slightly in purple, so that the painting can be hung immediately without further frame.
