Picture "Good Vibes_Magellan" (2023)
An evening beach walk on Portugal's Atlantic beach is the inspiration for this work in deep ultramarine blue, rich yellow-green, sparkling silver, bold dark umber burnt and white, and an accent of pink by Yo Franklin. Yo Franklin abstractly translates the moment of experiencing a deep dark blue sea with its intangible depth and the sound of waves under a sparkling silver full moon into this large-scale painting. The work is painted dark around the edges and can be hung without the need for additional picture frames. Yo Franklin works with high quality, lightfast pigments in poppy seed oil on gesso ground. The work is fixed on a solid wood stretcher frame and finished with a varnish.
