Andrea Eifler
In my pictures, I experiment with different spatial levels, some of which dissolve and shift.
This creates a fascinating interplay between proximity and distance - things that seem far away come closer, while things that are close suddenly recede into the background. I use colors, lines and various structures to create these effects. My aim is to invite viewers to keep discovering new things in my work, to allow them to make their own associations and to immerse themselves in (my) world of wonder.
In my "lecker" series, I deal with the theme of "food", which has been with me for a long time and is of great importance to me.
Taste experiences have been deeply emotionally connected to us since our first food intake. Who doesn't know the feeling that when we enjoy familiar flavors, memories of past times and the feeling of home and security catch up with us?
Growing up in Vienna, my memories of tastes, smells and the preparation of many dishes are inextricably linked to the feeling of home. These nostalgic feelings are mixed with joy and enthusiasm.
At the same time, I am fascinated by the incredible variety of foods and their preparation. The different textures, colors and textures of the food and the artfully arranged plates of the star cuisine inspire me. I want to capture this colorful diversity in my pictures, but without showing concrete content and leaving the viewer with a delicious feeling.
I studied pictures at Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts and was a master student of Verena Vernunft.
