Detailed description

Picture "Flow III" (2022)

The title "Flow" reflects the principle of complete immersion in the present moment, which is central to meditation and Buddhism. In a state of flow, we lose awareness of time and space and are completely immersed in the action, similar to a meditative state. In the creative process of this series, a conscious letting go takes place. The artist relinquishes control and allows shapes and lines to flow from the subconscious. The abstract forms are created by intuitively spraying graffiti paint onto the canvas. This method of letting go and trusting one's own experience and deep-rooted knowledge allows everything to fall into place naturally. As in a lived life, in which it is often only afterwards that we understand what has happened and why, so in this art, too, the forms and their meanings only become recognizable later.
