Detailed description

Picture "Hagoita Two" (2010)

First quality, highly pigmented acrylic paints, on 4 cm deep canvas. Figurative style.. impressionism. The sides are painted through, so that it can also be hung without a frame. The painting is ready to hang. During my stay in Tokyo, I stumbled upon the tradition of lucky dolls during the new year. "Hagoita" means lucky doll. In Japan, this "hagoita" is put into the house on New Year's Day, for a happy new year. The "hagoita" is blessed by a temple priest. At the end of the year, the "Hagoita" is burned in gratitude at the temple, and a new one is purchased.
