Detailed description

Picture "Looking for peace" (2020)

Looking for Peace is an expressionistic portrait painted on an old jute sack. The rough and tactile surface of the jute fabric gives the image a unique texture. In the center of the portrait is the peace sign, painted directly in the eye with an arrow pointing to the sign. This symbol is the focus of the image and symbolizes the search for peace. The large blue eyebrows are particularly eye-catching and stand out, giving the portrait a striking expressiveness. The blue lips complement the overall image and contribute to the artistic representation. Image signed and dated

About Ilona Schmidt

Since 2007 I have devoted myself to free artistic studies, with a focus on painting and sculpture.
My works have been presented in numerous exhibitions at home and abroad and have been nominated and awarded several times. I have been a member of the Professional Association for Fine Artists since 2013. In my paintings and sculptures I try to capture the complexity of the human being. By using different techniques and materials, I create works that appeal to the emotions and thoughts of the viewer and stimulate reflection. My artistic work is characterized by a deep engagement with people and their environment. I explore the relationships between the individual and society, between body and mind, between past and present. My aim is to use my art to build a bridge between the viewer and the subject matter depicted. I want to arouse emotions, raise questions and provide food for thought. Because for me, art is not only an expression of my own thoughts and feelings, but also a medium for making contact with other people and inspiring them.
