Detailed description

Picture "RE 15" (2024)

"RE 15" (123 x 123 x 10 cm, 2024) is an impressive work of object art from Mark Hellbusch's "Remains of an Experiment" series. A rhythmic mosaic of intense shades of blue, green, red and yellow is created here from deep, colored lids - originally prepared for the series "The Paint Box". Each individual color carrier retains the traces of past experiments and together form a vibrant, organic structure. The innovative framing is particularly impressive: the work stands about 10 cm from the wall and is enclosed in a frame made of wood and partially white-painted Plexiglas. The Plexiglas layer acts like a modern passe-partout and gives the work additional depth and a sculptural presence. Through this combination of color surface, space and object effect, "RE 15" merges painting and sculpture in a unique way.
