Detailed description

Sculpture "Serial Pig" (2023)

In his cultural-historical interaction with animals, man shows man's relationship with nature. Always emotionally and intellectually charged, be it as a companion, be it as a economic factor or projection figure, the consideration of man's relationship with animals allows with animals allows conclusions to be drawn about the state of the project "human being" or "civilization". Hidden in this are the origin and perspective of our existence. The "Industrialized Being" series thus poses the question: How did it come about that animals are kept and killed en masse? In this display, three objects are shown at the same time, but are sold as individual pieces.

About Marcus Meyer

Marcus Meyer has been working as an artist and sculptor since 1993.
During this time he has participated in numerous art exhibitions and installations. (Industralized Being- Simone Menne Gallery, Polar Bear- Kiel, parts of Gegenward- Kronshagen) His sculptural studies are mainly concerned with the themes of man and nature. As a visionary, he assembles a wooden blank from many individual parts, from which he then works out the expressive form of the subject in sculptural activity.
