Detailed description
Sculpture "Inclination" (2009)
It was a piece of a bent birch trunk that served the artist as the basis for this sculpture. The slope of the piece became the subject. The round trunk was given a rectangular cross-section almost like a bent beam. The work was done with a Japanese hand saw. A rectangular opening was worked into the center of the sculpture. From the concave side there is a flowing structure, on the convex side the opening almost looks like a window. The wood was already attacked by fungi, but still solid. This gives the materiality of the sculpture a special expression in the otherwise simple design. The wood is waxed and the sculpture is mounted on a steel plate. It has been present at various exhibitions.
