Picture "The bather II - keep in view the important things in life..." (2023)
This work was awarded the 1st prize of the International Art Award World Art Award 2023 in the category POP ART. Also in the series of bathers it is again the representation of self-confident and strong women who are depicted in primarily gaudy colors (leaning on the Pop Art) in swimwear. At first glance, the viewer recognizes only the colorfully depicted bathing scene. Only at a closer look, a socially critical issue is revealed. This bather, made up and with a cigarette, can trigger associations in the viewer on the subject of femininity, emancipation of women, freedom, self-confidence, ..... In the smoke of the cigarette there is the statement "keep in view the important things in life..." - what ARE the important things in life for you? The question about the importance of appearances and beauty standards, about transience and a body image shaped by the media can arise.
