Bright colors, sweeping light color movements, symbolic patterns and shapes.
A harmonious interplay of intense colors creates positive moods that can motivate, comfort, inspire and give wings. The colorful pictures invite to always new journeys of discovery. Most of all, one would like to experience them by touch. The abstract paintings of graphic designer and contemporary North German artist Katrin Mates, who calls herself Artmates, are created from small to large format with acrylic, gouache and oil on paper and canvas. Her passion is the discovery of colors, their interaction and their emotional impact. Her artistic works are currently dedicated to the themes of "colors" and "momentum": to capture the course of a movement in the moment. The moment bound briskly by hand in the color swing as a personal expression and emotional invitation to the viewer.
