The focus of her work is the human being - as a portrait or as a whole figure, depicted in everyday situations. She captures moments and reinterprets them for herself. Her own photos serve her as support and inspiration for the visual language. In each of her paintings, Seliger's enthusiasm for color can be intensely felt. In the compositions she shows portraits and people in situations and snapshots from everyday life, but also still life and landscape motifs. "I paint mainly with acrylic and oil paints, and I really like to play with color and ductus. I would describe the style as contemporary modern realism." Corinna Seliger observes people, light and colors. She draws inspiration from seemingly banal scenes and moments of everyday life. Moments that in the next second can already look uninteresting and completely different. She tracks down her motifs when she walks through the city with her camera: people in their surroundings, at work and in their everyday activities. "In everyday life, I always have my inner motif seeker on." One of the subjects she deals with is the "People@Work" series. Why people at work? "It's everyday life, it's often a service that we take for granted," says Corinna Seliger. "In doing so, we quickly overlook the special nature of the activity and also the individual and his or her performance, which is provided for others. And I like the clothes, the movements and of course the colors." Corinna Seliger lives and works near Hanover.
