Picture "The lake in the village" (2023)
As a child, I ran down here without hesitation. I screamed with joy at my relatives as we hurtled down the incline. And then, finally arrived, we jumped into the water and swam around. Those moments are etched in my soul and I will never forget them. But even today, years later, I still visit this place. The beauty of the lake has not changed, despite all the turmoil of living in northern Iraq. And every time I come here, I feel an energy that carries me away and fills my soul. I hope this work sparks the same passion in you as it does in me.
