I, Gunther Sichelschmidt, am a painter.
The adventure MALEREI leads me to unknown places.
I seek in the act of painting the risk and try not to go out of the way.

In Marburg, Kassel, Hamburg, Tucson, USA, Vienna (DAAD scholarship at the Vienna Academy) I learned the craft of the painter and teacher. I was a teacher in Hamburg and Frankfurt, where I live.
Artistic activities in many fields, exhibitions in institutions and galleries, teacher training and publications in professional journals have accompanied me.
