Detailed description

Picture "Riverbed" (2023)

The painting is inspired by the views and impressions the artist has on his way to the studio when he drives along the Isar. The course of the river itself and the color of the water - depending on the light and the season - are constantly changing. Above all, the dynamics of this still largely wildly flowing river are imprinted, which is recognizable in the forms of the painting. The artist has chosen an abstract style of painting that nevertheless leaves the origin recognizable. Due to the choice of colors, one could think of a day after a thunderstorm in the mountains, when the river carries a lot of debris, sand and boulders. the painting is signed and dated on the reverse.

About Heinz Stoewer

In my early 40s, I ended my career as a lawyer and banker in favor of painting, which has been the center of my life ever since.
I live in Bad Tölz and Palm Springs, California. My painting varies between real images and abstraction, where the interplay of form and color, that is, the painting itself is as much at the center of my work as the message. Water reflections, nature-inspired themes and images of people, especially male bodies or sections of them, are focal points in my work series. The influence of the flood of images on the Internet on us and our self-perception is questioned and the equality of alternative lifestyles is important to me. I am inspired by various media, my own experience and everything that happens around me.
