Picture "When you make a trip" (2018)
Work from my series Encounters. When you make a trip. An alternative traveler meets astonished people. This picture was painted on an extra deep stretcher (4 cm) , the canvas is provided with hooks, so it can be hung immediately. The sides are painted light blue. The work is dated and signed.
About Ilona Schmidt
Since 2007 I have devoted myself to free artistic studies, with a focus on painting and sculpture.
My works have been presented in numerous exhibitions at home and abroad and have been nominated and awarded several times. I have been a member of the Professional Association for Fine Artists since 2013.
In my paintings and sculptures I try to capture the complexity of the human being. By using different techniques and materials, I create works that appeal to the emotions and thoughts of the viewer and stimulate reflection.
My artistic work is characterized by a deep engagement with people and their environment. I explore the relationships between the individual and society, between body and mind, between past and present.
My aim is to use my art to build a bridge between the viewer and the subject matter depicted. I want to arouse emotions, raise questions and provide food for thought. Because for me, art is not only an expression of my own thoughts and feelings, but also a medium for making contact with other people and inspiring them.
