Detailed description

Picture "On the Move" (2024)

* Animal painting as a mirror of the soul! Far too often we are distracted by false feelings and other opinions. We do not look at ourselves. Through my animal portraits I transfer these feelings and moments moments onto the canvas. Animals live in the moment, they are not false or fake, that's why they are a perfect mediator for these moments and feelings for me. To the artwork: The background is done with coffee and charcoal pencils and gradually several overlapping layers were added. The deep black is the last layer of acrylic paint and dominates the canvas together with the turquoise. The hare sketches are partly outlined with black acrylic paint, only one of the hares is painted realistically in places, the upper part was only applied with thinned paint. Because the moment is quickly over.

About Marit Symalla

I have been professionally making animal portraits for over 13 years.
To draw and paint I started already in childhood and also at that time predominantly animals shaped my pictures. In my later training as a design assistant I learned a lot about the different styles and about the different styles and designs. To educate myself further, I visited many drawing and painting courses. During this time I also started volunteering at the Dresden Animal Shelter. Through this my passion for animal paintings became stronger and stronger. I have participated over the years in some exhibitions (group, as well as individual exhibitions) participated and exhibit permanently at several locations in Dresden, Bautzen and Doberschau. My intention Animals live in the moment. Exactly that fascinates me, because nowadays everything is very fast moving. Most of the time you already think of something new, while you are still doing something else. I'm a lot with my dogs in nature on the road and enjoy it just a moment to pause and switch off from everyday life. Just to be in the here and now.
