Work from the series "Courage, strength, resilience - lifelines of extraordinary women". Coco Chanel founded the Chanel fashion house in the early 1910s and left her mark on fashion history with her designs. Starting in 1913, she pioneered a then almost revolutionary women's fashion for self-confident, modern women. Her fashion is groundbreaking: she abolishes the corset, shortens skirts, creates the classic and timeless Chanel costume. Chanel established the global company in the fashion market even through the turbulent times of World War 1 and 2, it is one of the largest and most important in the fashion industry. A truly strong woman - timeless in turbulent times (intemporel en temps d'agité). For the mixed media work I used acrylic paints, plastic masses, oil pastels and tissue paper and collaged letters. The painting has intended plastic parts through the use of putty and paper/tissue paper. The varnish is glossy.
