Already the title expresses it "Let's dance" - bold, full of vitality, brash and at the same time playful-light-footed comes the new series of works by Susanne Meyer. It is a single rebellion, a "painting against the tristesse" as the artist herself says. The works in acrylic with their bright colors, created during the Corona peak period in 2020 and 2021, indeed leave no one behind in their sadness.
About Susanne Meyer
I paint since she can remember, and that out of passion.
My paintings live from the contrasting and imaginative play between colors, surfaces and lines. Each imeiner artwork arises from an intense creative process. Layer after layer is applied and also discarded again. There are surfaces and colors on top of each other and fit in. Noticeable and important to me is the joy of experimenting, the constant change and discard, which brings a special dynamic in the images and makes them seem alive. This all results in a mysterious, abstract interplay.
