Picture "Roses by the pond" (2023)
I painted this picture in my garden in June. In the center are roses standing between the light blue and magenta flowers of the cranesbill plants. Individual yellow rose blossoms light up in the background, while a part of the pond is indicated on the left of the picture, in which some rose blossoms are reflected in the blue-green water. Dark blue irises shine against a background of dark green. I have captured the summer light in an impressionistic manner. The oil paint is applied impasto with spontaneous, expressive brushstrokes. The shadows lend the painting plasticity. The canvas is hand-stretched, primed four times and fitted with a steel wire for hanging. The edges are painted so that the painting can be hung directly. The signature is on the front.
