Picture "Summer day / Ærø" (2018)
The setting for this picture is a country lane on the Danish island of Ærø. On a warm, sunny summer's day, I was watercoloring along the path and a hare sat down in the picture. Later, I created this oil painting on wood in my studio using the watercolor sketch and a photo as a reference. The picture with the bright blue of the water, the green bushes on the bend casting their shadows on the sandy path, the resting hare, shows the moment of a peaceful, harmonious summer's day. The view is directed towards the sea and the wide sky. A longing for places beyond the distant horizon is awakened. My brushstroke is expressive. I have captured the light impressionistically. The picture support is a 5 cm wide wooden box. The edges are white. The suspension consists of a steel cable. The signature is on the front.
