Detailed description
Picture "Giverny" (2024)
It is the garden of Giverny in Normandy, where Monet painted his famous water lilies, and to which I always feel drawn. In Giverny, I paint outdoors and let myself be guided by the light and the intoxication of color. The representational becomes more and more abstract until the painting is reduced to its colors and light. The optimal time window, in which natural sunlight makes the garden glow in its entire palette, has to be rediscovered again and again. In the early morning, when the sun is not yet so high, and in the late afternoon, the shades of green are fascinating, ranging from light yellow-green to deep emerald green, broken only by the white of the water reflections and the pink-red of the water lily blossoms. - Ready to hang immediately - best lightfast pigments - solid hand-crafted stretcher frame with the best fabric - painted with love and passion
