Detailed description

Picture "Three Days" (2024)

I took the inspiration for this oil painting from nature, from the light of spring and the scent of summer, spiced with a pinch of longing. Mountains, water and city create a harmonious composition that encourages the viewer to wander off into the distance. Here I merge warm summery colors into a reflection of modern to abstract landscape emotions with a bit of sunset. Modern oil painting, unique, professional quality, canvas stretched on stretcher frame and ready to hang.

About Angela Wichmann

What fascinates me is the effect of light in its many facets, so that it has become the dominant theme of my works.
Again and again I am drawn to it in order to bring it to bear on the canvas - a challenge that I face anew with every painting. My pictures usually appear without visual definition and hardly clearly outlined - the contours seem to blur. What they all have in common is the effect of depth, which is achieved through the spatial composition. I am not a fast painter, I take my time - I let the picture work on me in order to recognize which colour and light settings correspond to my perception. I paint the different light intensities and reflections either in fine glazes or powerfully impasto. Starting from a sketch or photo, I approach my goal. This creates special perspectives that seem to be seen from afar. The most beautiful moment for me is in the final phase, when I create the brightest points of light. At this point, the picture begins to glow and unfold its full effect. Each new work is an open experiment for me, a very personal journey.
