Picture "Schnakenpohl stays with us." (2023)
The template was a small painting that I had started as plein air in 2022 and recently finished in the studio. I had so much fun playing with the complementary colors that I was inspired to paint a new picture in a large format. The "Schnakenpohl" occupies a very special position in the district of Minden-Lübbecke among the now 62 nature reserves. First designated as a protected area in 1936, it is the oldest nature reserve in the district and also one of the "veterans" in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. In addition, as a "Heideweiherbiotop", it represents a habitat unique by nature throughout Germany. Oil on linen, stretched on stretcher - 50 × 60 cm. Signed lower left.
