About Kirsten Treis

Kirsten Trei's pictures are a celebration, a homage to the beauty of nature.
She has penetrated her motifs down to the smallest detail. As if zooming in, she brings out every detail and lavishly stages it. Flowers, leaves, tree trunks and branches are arranged into colorful still lifes. Sometimes they shimmer blue like glass, then they are brown and heavy like the earth. Sometimes they glow red like autumn, when all the colors glow once again. These pictures are invitations to take a walk with your eyes. Sometimes they are figurative, sometimes abstract, sometimes true to nature, sometimes more composed. Above all, they invite you to look closely. Because these pictures are only clear at first glance. Again and again, Kirsten Treis captures the seemingly incidental and uses it to create new focal points. Animals merge with their surroundings or unexpectedly come to the fore. Insects buzz between the flowers, leaves swirl in the water, a newt eats an egg clutch ... The familiar takes on unfamiliar features and the familiar is presented in a new light. ... You will see: If you get involved with these pictures, you can get lost in them and at the same time feel the magic of the moment. (Iris Schürmann-Mock at the opening of the exhibition at Christuskirche Leverkusen) I donate 3% from the sale of a picture to nature conservation projects.
