Springtime Rock'n'Roll is an energetic work to which my subject, love of humanity and tolerance, belief in the good adhere. For this painting, I mixed the best lightfast pigments with poppy seed oil and Rügen chalk to create a very tactile paint application. I then apply several layers of this paste a centimetre thick and leave the canvas to rest and dry slowly for a few days in high humidity. Once the motif has been worked in, the relief-like work has to dry again for a few days before I apply a self-made crystal-clear resin, which enhances the haptics and colors by allowing the resin to collect in the valleys of the relief.
